Annual Camp Au Sable Retreat
Here is some detailed information about our annual Camp Au Sable retreat which will next be held in February 2008.
FACILITIES
Please note, that we do NOT camp. We have the Cedar Lodge all to ourselves. This lodge has two stories, contains main dining/living area, a kitchen, fireplace, two sets of bathrooms, a game room and the basement has two large rooms with bunkbed accommodations.
All services/activities for the weekend will be informal. Please dress for your comfort and warmth. Bring house slippers or shoes to wear in the lodge. All boots/outside footwear are removed at the door. Bring snow gear if you plan to snowmobile or ski on Sat. night.
Camp Au Sable, an 840-acre Christian youth camp facility, is located in beautiful northern Michigan just east of Grayling on M-72. Lake Shellenbarger, Camp Au Sable's private lake, has natural springs that flow into the Au Sable River, making a wonderful habitat for a variety of animals and water fowl native to northern Michigan.
LODGING
1. Bunk Beds in the basement of the lodge with separate rooms for males and females
2. There are 8 private cabins
(Bathrooms are apprx 1 min. walk outside)
3. Three private rooms inside the Lodge. The cost is usually an extra $15 per night for the room (divided between the number of people staying in room). Two of the rooms have double beds.
COSTS
Total cost will be approximately $60 per person for cabin/dorm beds, but this is subject to change as the date gets nearer. This includes two days & nights accommodations, five fully cooked meals, snacks and hot/cold drinks.

If Camp AuSable is a new experience for you the following is suggested:
- Sleeping bag or bedding
- Pillow
- Warm Clothing/indoor and outdoor
- Indoor shoes/slippers
- Toiletry items
- Bible
- Your favorite table games for Saturday night
- A GOOD COOPERATIVE ATTITUDE
CHORES
You will be expected to share in helping with meal preparation and with clean-ups. You know, many hands make light work.
ARRIVAL
Although most people do not arrive until after work, usually about 9:00pm, the lodge will be open and available for those that would like to arrive early. There will be somebody there starting at 3:00 pm. Directions to Grayling, MI will be provided.
